Moving an existing API integration
The Remove Background API is a single POST to /api/v1/remove with a Bearer API key. Send a file upload or a public image_url and you get a transparent PNG back, so most scripts only need a new endpoint and header.
Create a key in the dashboard, rerun the images that gave you the most trouble, and compare edges side by side. The CLI, Zapier and Make integrations and the MCP server for AI agents all use the same key.
Edges that survive the hard cases
Cutouts use the open-source Lucida model, which predicts real partial transparency instead of a hard mask. Fine hair, see-through glass and soft shadows under text keep their true alpha, and colour decontamination removes the fringe of the old background.

How do I switch a script to the PixelMagic API?+
Create an API key in the dashboard, then POST a multipart file (or JSON with an image_url) to https://pixelmagic.studio/api/v1/remove with the header Authorization: Bearer <key>. The response is the transparent PNG. The Developers page has a curl example.
How many images can I process at once?+
Bulk processing takes up to 100 images per batch. For larger catalogues, call the API in a loop or run a Workflow; requests are rate-limited per minute by plan.
Can I test it before paying?+
