Is the background remover free?+
Yes. Every account gets free credits on sign-up, with no credit card, so you can test it on your own images first. Paid plans and credit packs add more credits; 1 credit = 1 HD image.
What output formats do I get?+
A transparent PNG with real partial alpha, or a JPG on a solid colour, gradient or blurred background. HD and 4K exports are supported.
How does it handle hair and glass?+
Lucida predicts partial transparency per pixel, so fine strands and see-through objects keep their real alpha instead of turning into halos or opaque blobs. Edge refinement and colour decontamination remove the fringe of the old background.
Can I remove backgrounds from many images at once?+
Yes. Bulk processing handles up to 100 images per batch and emails you when they are done, and the REST API and MCP server let you automate it.
What happens to my images?+
Images are processed on PixelMagic infrastructure. Original uploads are deleted automatically 30 days after processing; cutouts stay in your library until you delete them.
